New Logo and Website Launch

We are proud to announce the launch of our new logo and updated website.  We have refreshed our logo to more readily reflect who we are and what we do and to raise awareness about our role and function. Our updated website has a modern, clean look and is designed around the needs of our users. New features will improve access to information and services for practitioners, complainants, pharmacy owners and other important stakeholders.

We hope you like the changes, and if you have any feedback, please let us know. We will be adding new content to the website over the following months.

New Application Forms and Notices

We have recently updated all of our ownership application forms and notices. When submitting a form or notice you are advised to download it from our website to ensure you are using the correct version. This will also assist to avoid any delays in the processing of your application.

Hint – the new forms/notices contain our new logo.

Annual Declarations - Overdue

94% of pharmacy owners have submitted their annual declaration. If you are in the 6% who have not submitted the declaration you must do so immediately.
The due date for submission of Annual Declarations passed on 30 June 2017. If you held a financial interest in a NSW pharmacy business in the period 1 May 2016 to 30 April 2017 you are required to provide us with an annual declaration regarding such interest.

Lost, Stolen and Forged Prescriptions

The NSW Ministry of Health will now be publishing the prescriber details of prescriptions reported to have been lost, stolen or forged, on the NSW Ministry of Health website.

To report the loss, theft or forgery of prescriptions, pharmacists and authorised practitioners may submit a Notifications of Lost, Stolen or Forged Prescription form, also available on the website.

Pharmacist Vaccination Proving to be Win/Win for Everyone - However...

The introduction of pharmacist administered vaccines has proved to be very successful with this service regarded as a winner for all concerned and instrumental in changing perceptions about the role of community pharmacy.  However as with many successful programs there have been some hiccups along the way.

Enabling Pharmacists to Improve Care of People Living with a Disability in NSW

About 20% of Australians have a disability, and so health care providers including pharmacists are likely to encounter people with disabilities in their professional practice, both as patients and as colleagues. Research has shown that barriers to optimal healthcare for people with disabilities include those of health care provider attitudes and prejudices, as well as lack of appropriate knowledge and poor communication skills.
