Say G'day to the Whales!
Winter is the best time to see the migrating humpback whales as they make their way north to the warmer waters of Queensland. Two Coffs Coast operators offer whale-watching trips so you can experience these majestic mammals up close and personal. Both companies follow strict wildlife guidelines.
Jetty Dive Adventure Whale Watching & Swim with the
Whales
Daily adventure trips run from Coffs Marina aboard their boat 'Mega Wild'.
The boat is designed for maximum views, comfort, and a fast trip from the harbour to the whales - the tour is approximately 90 minutes. Jetty Dive is also certified in Advanced Eco Tourism and is one of only three operators in NSW approved to run Swim with the Whales experiences.
Whale Watch Experience
Daily catamaran cruises, running June to November from Coffs Marina.
Enjoy uninterrupted viewing, a safe and stable ride, no restrictive fixed seating, and plenty of room to move about. Cruises depart early for the best sea conditions and spend two hours with the whales.
Whale-Watching Locations
If you prefer to stay on dry land, there are several great vantage spots to make the most of the passing migration. A few of our favourites include Woolgoolga Headland, Look At Me Now Headland, Muttonbird Island and Sawtell Headland.

On Saturday July 1, picturesque First Avenue in the sea-side village of Sawtell is transformed into a carnival of all things hot and spicy!
