Click here 18 July 2023 AGRS e-NewsDirector's MessageEarly July has brought very exciting news; the Councils of The University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia decided to support the State Government in the creation of a combined new university for South Australia called Adelaide University, to be launched in January 2026. I would like to give you the assurance that there are no immediate changes to your current study or research arrangements, not to your CoEs or visas, scholarships or student fees (if applicable). While we are waiting for the required legal and regulatory approvals, including the passing of state legislation, we will start detailed transition planning and implementation and keep you updated along the way. Some information is already available: - If you complete your degree after the opening of the new university, you may elect to take your award with the name and logo of your originating institution displayed (The University of Adelaide), or an award from the new Adelaide University – it is your choice. Secondly, if you are graduating in 2023, 2024 or 2025, graduation ceremonies will be held at Bonython Hall. If you are graduating in 2026 and beyond, graduation venues will be decided by the new Adelaide University Council. - During the transition, we don’t expect any changes to your study/research locations or online platforms and all student services continue to operate as they do now. This means that our team from the Adelaide Graduate Research School will be here for you for any questions you may have. In addition, I recommend you check the regularly updated merger FAQs which can be found here.
