Welcome to 2022! How exciting that we are finally opening up to the world!

While all the good things that were initiated in response to the challenging times continue, it’s great to see so many international students returning to Adelaide and visiting the Hub Central Welcome Desk. Ask Adelaide staff are busy helping students with all the essential info about starting back on-campus.

As staff, we have been eagerly awaiting to celebrate this reunion. 

Over the coming weeks, there are many activities lined up to welcome you all to semester one, so keep your emails in check.

Welcome Back Festival - The Great Adelaide Challenge

Are you an international student? Whether it's your first semester, first time on campus or you are still to return, The Great Adelaide Challenge is a series of fun challenges with great prizes to help you reconnect and settle into Adelaide life. The challenge runs until 10 June. Enter today!

 

The League of Nations Prize
Win $1000 with your essay writing skills! Applications are now open for the League of Nations Prize. The prize is awarded for the best essay on a topic connected with the work of the League of Nations. Applications close at 5 pm on Monday 14 March 2022.

O’Week 2022 - volunteers needed! 
Are you from Country or Regional Adelaide? A postgraduate student or a mature student? Your experience will help new students find their feet in campus life. If you are interested, join us as a volunteer on Monday 21 February from 2 – 4 pm to interact with new students during a social session. Email uoaorientation@adelaide.edu.au.

Welcome Back Festival - event grants
Do you have an idea for an event or initiative to welcome our international students back to campus? Apply for up to $500 to host an event that promotes inclusion, connection and participation. Visit the events-calendar for full grant guidelines and application details. Applications close 31 March 2022.

Planning to finish your program in Summer School? Applications for Summer conferral close on Wednesday 16 February
If you are planning to complete your studies by 8 March 2022, it is important to ensure that you have an application for conferral in Access Adelaide by Wednesday 16 February 2022. If there is no automatic application under the Graduations tab of Access Adelaide, you will see the option to apply.

Abandoned bike locks to be removed
Old locks are removed from bike racks annually, so that they can be better utilised by cyclists. ‘Abandoned’ locks have recently been identified by Security and will be removed in early-March. If your lock has been tagged but is still in use, please remove the tag as soon as possible.

We hope you’ve enjoyed a relaxing break over the summer and are ready to get orientated with a FULL week of competitions, clubs, freebies, food, entertainment and everything you need to get started and settled into uni life. Tuesday 8 March, 10 am to 1 pm - Hub Central
Take home a bag of quality stationery donated by University staff at the Ecoversity Re-usathon. Binders, folders, pens, paper, staplers and more will be available. Get there early for the good stuff!

Annual meeting of the University community
Monday 14 February, 12 to 1 pm - The Braggs Lecture Theatre and online
This meeting is your opportunity to ask questions about your University and to hear from the Vice-Chancellor and the Chancellor. Questions may be submitted prior to the meeting by email to council.secretary@adelaide.edu.au. The meeting will also be live streamed. Register you attendance in-person or online.

  • For casual work while you study check out the Student Employment site from the AUU.
  • Gain internships and work experience by searching CareerHub
  • Find Graduate Jobs (apply before you graduate) with Career Services
  • Search for work at the University

The Careers team also run employer events and workshops to increase your employability, build your resume and LinkedIn profile, improve interview skills, grow your career and more.
