A few recent occasions! We acknowledged International Women's Day and the start of Ramadan, hosted our Annual Dinner, presented to 150 students about positive masculinities, and progressed the build of our new Mental Health and Wellbeing Connect hub for families and carers of people experiencing mental health or substance use challenges – plus read on for our regular events, media and more.

On International Women's Day we celebrated the skill, expertise and dedication of women at all levels of our organisation, including our outgoing Board Chair Patricia Faulkner AO, who recently wrapped up her 17 years with us.

Extreme heat report
We welcomed a new extreme heat report by ACOSS as an important addition to the growing body of evidence demonstrating the disproportionate effect extreme climate conditions have on people experiencing disadvantage.

New way out of unemployment
The Jobs Victoria Mentor program we partner on was featured in the Berwick Star News, acknowledging 50 long-term job-seekers successfully supported into employment through the program since October last year.

Events
Palm Sunday's Walk for Justice and Peace 2024
CAPSA, which we co-convene with Jesuit Refugee Service Australia, will attend the Walk for Justice and Peace in Melbourne this Palm Sunday, 24 March, and all are welcome to join the reflection and contingent from 9:45am.
Mental Health and Wellbeing Connect opening
Refurbishment is well under way and opening day is just weeks away for our Western Metro Mental Health and Wellbeing Connect hub, which features a garden designed by our very own Ecological Justice Hub.
