When compliance certificates are requiredWhile the government has removed the need for a certificate of compliance (CoC) in terms of geyser installations, it is still necessary to have a CoC for gas installations, issued by an authorised person who is registered with the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Safety Association of Southern Africa (LPGAS). Electric fencing also needs a CoC, issued by a registered Electric Fence System Installer (EFSI). The onus is on homeowners to ensure that they have this certification so that their property is covered in the event of a claim.
