Year 3 (2020 - 2021) Solar Project Funding Announcement

The TSAF began in mid 2018 with a 3-year, $5 million dollar grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation.  In late 2018, the TSAF provided $1 million in project support to five tribal communities who were identified by GRID to have "shovel-ready" projects.  In the spring of 2019, the TSAF launched the first competitive grant-making program which marked the 2nd year of the 3-year grant. The TSAF received 45 applications, totaling $7.3 million in funding request. In July 2019, the TSAF awarded $1.6 million to 14 tribal communities.

Due to the number of highly qualified applicants in 2019, the TSAF has made the decision to restrict new applications in 2020 and move forward into the Year-3 grant cycle by an "Invite Only" application process.

We understand how great the need is for solar project funding, which inspires our team is diligently work hard to secure additional resources.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.

GRID TRIBAL PROGRAM UPDATES

Feature Headline Here

Our Tribal Program welcomed three Solar Corps trainees this year from Arizona, New Mexico, and South Dakota. Our team travels to Tribal communities around the U.S. and this group is no exception, they have already worked on projects in at least three states. Working hard both on the job site and in the classroom, two of the three have already earned the NABCEP Associate’s certificate and are working towards higher certifications. We are excited to see where their year of service takes them!
