Unused sick, vacation, personal, or compensatory time may not be used to extend the termination date, and employees are required to work on their final day. The only exception to this policy applies when an employee is on an approved medical leave. For instance, if an employee wishes to leave service following the 2024-25 Winter Recess and be compensated for the recess, they must return to work on Jan. 2, 2025, and must work at least that day. If the employee does not return, their last day worked will be prior to the break, and their termination date will be Dec. 20, 2024. The staff handbook further stipulates that employees must provide written notice of their intention to terminate. For further information, please refer to the staff handbook. |
