CEDRR Furthers Support for Ukraine
The Chamber & Economic Development of the Rutland Region is backing its support for Ukraine with a financial contribution to the International Committee of the Red Cross. This was a unanimous decision by the CEDRR board leadership at their March meeting and follows our recent public statement supporting the people of Ukraine. Congressional Directed Spending Requests
Do you have a high-impact project based in Vermont? Senator Bernie Sanders is now accepting preliminary requests for Fiscal Year 2023. The application is to identify projects in Vermont that can reach completion with assistance from the federal government. Funding is not guaranteed and for-profit entities are not eligible. All requests must be submitted by 5:00 p.m., Friday, April 8. Apply here→
Tickets Available for the Real Rutland Feud
Rutland's Annual Real Rutland Feud is back this April 30, at 7 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre. Teams made up of community members you know, will go head-to-head in this live show, based on the national television show, "Family Feud." Click here to purchase your ticket! →
The Loyalty Day Parade is Back and Needs Floats
Vermont's largest Loyalty Day Parade is Sunday, May 1, at 2 p.m. in Downtown Rutland. On behalf of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Rutland Post 648, the Rutland Loyalty Day Parade Committee is inviting organizations, schools, departments, and marching units to participate. A new section has been added, the Loyalty Truck Brigade, an opportunity for company trucks and schools buses to salute the troops. This year's theme is "We Are Back, to Honor Our Best." We're Springing Ahead with Plans at The MINT!
Recent classes included Intro to Jewelry Making with our shop lead Tim Schneller of Timco Jewelers and great sessions on how to work with specific equipment at The MINT, including the X-Carve CNC router in our wood shop and the Glowforge laser housed in our youth and family makerspace, The Boiler. Stay up-to-date on the full suite of class and activity offerings for April, May and June by visiting our calendar. We're resuming our MINT Member Mixer event series on Monday, April 4 from 6:30 - 8:00 PM! Mixers are a great way to connect with other maker members and get to know the broader MINT
community. Join us! We'll be providing some pizza, please BYOB, and have some fun learning how to use our button makers. Not yet a member? Check out our Maker Mondays, 5:30 - 7:30 PM every week with the exception of the first Monday of the month. Shop leads are on hand to provide guidance or answer questions, and we often schedule intro classes or other activities for these events, too. Do you have a business that's rowing too big for your living room or garage? Our March Volunteer Day yielded some new studio space build-outs in our Launchpad area! 8x10 studio spaces can be rented for a flat fee of $150.00/month. In addition, we have larger spaces for making or manufacturing that are rented at a rate of $2.00 per square foot. Basing your business at The MINT gives you many options, including
access to all of our specialty shops, our wood shop, and our metal shop. Our building is equipped with large overhead doors for ease of moving materials and equipment, and our premises are secured by keycard and 24 hour camera surveillance. Interested? Vermont's Premier Career & Job Fair
April 26| 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. The largest multi-sector career/job fair ever held in Vermont will be at the Champlain Valley Expo Miller Center in Essex Junction. This event includes up to 150 employers from across the state engaging with 1,500 job-seekers. Professional attire is requested. Remember to bring several copies of your resume.
