The deadline for project submissions is December 16th. Apply Now for the Community Recovery & Revitalization Program
The application is now open for the Community Recovery and Revitalization Program (CRRP). Announced today by Governor Phil Scott at his weekly press conference alongside Department of Economic Development Commissioner Joan Goldstein, the CRRP portal is now live and accepting submissions for projects that spur economic recovery and revitalization in communities across the state. CRRP grants are available to for-profit, nonprofit, and municipal applicants for projects that: - Assist industries most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic such as arts and entertainment, hospitality, agriculture, and educational services;
- Support childcare and affordable housing opportunities for low and moderate income households;
- Establish or improve municipal water and wastewater systems to build housing or create jobs through business creation and expansion; or
- Are located with a Qualified Census Tract (QCT).
Awards will be made on a rolling, first come, first served basis, with the exception of the first 30 days during which the Agency of Commerce and Community Development (ACCD) will prioritize
the review of applications that primarily serve BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) communities. ACCD will also prioritize the review of applications from municipalities and organizations located in non-Metropolitan Statistical Areas (non-MSAs) in Addison, Bennington, Caledonia, Essex, Lamoille, Orange, Orleans, Rutland, Washington, Windham, and Windsor counties during the initial 30-day priority period. ACCD hosted a series of five informational webinars unique to each eligible project type and strongly encourages all potential applicants to watch the recordings prior to submitting their application. Full details of the program, webinar recordings, and the application can be found at the Community Recovery and Revitalization Program page.

Courtney Allard, The MINT Makerspace Education Coordinator.
The MINT Makerspace Hired Education Coordinator
We are super excited to introduce Cortney Allard who is joining us as our Education Coordinator. Cortney comes to us most recently from the Rutland Restorative Justice Center overseeing the BARJ (Balanced and Restorative Justice) program. she worked with truant, at-risk, and adjudicated youth, ages 10 to 18. In addition to working one-on-one with youth, Cortney collaborated with educators and administrators in Rutland City Public Schools. She implemented a Social Emotional Learning program called Emotional Intelligence. The program covered topics of bullying, emotional regulation, time management, and building peer relationships. This kind of work serves as a strong foundation for the
work we do in the Boiler at The MINT. At first glance, one might ask "what does emotional intelligence have to do with Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math?" We know and believe that without an emotional connection, nervous system regulation, and a sense of belonging, learners of any age are underserved by the subject matter. Now, more than ever, it is so important that our educational spaces, even the extracurricular spaces like The MINT, are built on this kind of foundation. Cortney's first order of business is designing our December Break Camp! Stay tuned for more information on that camp and even more youth Boiler programming soon!! Welcome, Cortney.
