Welcome to the latest edition of the North Sydney Olympic Pool e-newsletter

Our monthly updates will help keep you informed about the pool redevelopment progress, key milestones, and details about our upcoming state-of-the-art community facility, as we move towards the final stages of construction.

Project update

Council’s contractor, ICON, is reporting that the pool construction will be completed on 30 October 2025. Once the completed facility is handed over to Council, we will need to commission and prepare the site for opening, which will take up to 3 months.

Our priority remains delivering a first-class facility that meets the needs of the community, and we will continue to keep you updated.

Here’s the latest progress:

  • On level 1 joinery installation is 50% complete and the glass reinforced concrete has been fully installed.
  • On level 2, waterproofing of the amenities has commenced while on level 3 tiling works are now complete.
  • The Sauna/Steam fit out is ongoing.
  • Outside the 50m pool concourse paving has started while the paving works have been completed on Olympic Drive.
  • Roofing has also started on the Lower Entry.

To keep up to date, please see the latest report to Council here: North Sydney Olympic Pool Redevelopment Project Update.

This month, Duncan Rennie, our Manager, Leisure and Aquatics, shares an update on some of the new experiences that will be available when the pool reopens including the childcare area, multi-function room and our Learn to Swim programs.
