Discover how our programs are transforming communities and empowering young leaders. Welcome to our August newsletter! We're excited to share the latest updates and highlights from our Teens Teach Tech, powered by AT&T, Digital Skills Training, and Digital Works programs. Our mission to empower communities with essential digital literacy skills and create opportunities for meaningful impact continues to grow with over 95,000 adults to date. Read on to discover what we’ve been up to! Teens Teach Tech, powered by AT&T In July, our focus was on the dedicated teams that held successful training sessions, including ORCSGirls Internet Innovators in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, the Somali Community of Louisville, and Capital City Tech Changemakers. Thanks to their hard work, we've now trained over 500 adults since June 1st. We're excited to announce that the Summer Showdown has been extended until September 30th, giving teams more time to join in and make an impact. As teams prepare for back-to-school and fall fundraising opportunities, there's still time to sign-up and take advantage of the double incentive for each person trained. With our program now active in 23 states, we anticipate even more teens will join once the school year begins. Even if your team isn’t able to participate in the Summer Showdown, you can still sign-up afterward to be part of Teens Teach Tech, powered by AT&T and start making a difference in your community. The opportunities to learn, lead, and earn don’t stop with summer—Teens Teach Tech is here for you year-round. Teens are not only earning money but also making a meaningful impact by advancing digital literacy in their communities. Interested in forming a team? Digital Skills Training led by Connected Nation Last month, our Digital Skills Training program delivered impactful sessions at the Sunshine House and TN Vocational Rehabilitation Services. At the Sunshine House, Marco Mata led workshops on email basics, device usage, and internet safety, allowing participants to enhance their digital skills through hands-on experience. Highlights included open lab sessions for in-depth exploration and a raffle that rewarded participants like Elisa Hinojos, who focused on online safety and email communication. The training provided attendees with practical skills to navigate the digital world confidently. In Clarksville, TN, the Vocational Rehabilitation Services sessions attracted a diverse group, including employees, parents, and adults returning to college. The training covered essential skills like online safety and document management, helping participants become more proficient computer users. These sessions are part of our ongoing effort to empower individuals with the digital tools needed for personal and professional success, ensuring they can confidently contribute to the workforce and their communities. Organizations and nonprofits can bring these computer classes to your community at NO COST! It is a great opportunity to empower others on their digital literacy journey.
