Eberly Alumna Selected to Receive Alumni Achievement Award

The Alumni Achievement Award recognizes alumni 35 years of age and younger for their extraordinary professional accomplishments. This year, Eberly alumna Leah Liu was one of seven alumni chosen by the Penn State Alumni Association to receive the award.

Leah Liu is currently associate director of target biology at Korro Bio, Inc., in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she leads a team responsible for applying new genetic technologies for the treatment of liver diseases. Korro Bio uses the cell’s natural RNA editing machinery to correct disease mutations and enhance protein function without permanently altering the genome. Read more.

Call for Signatures: Advocate Penn State Petition

If you have not yet signed the Advocate Penn State petition calling for increased support of Penn State’s 2023–24 state appropriations request, I encourage you to take a moment right now to do so. Your voice matters!

Penn State’s appropriations request to the Commonwealth this year is historic, and should we be successful in securing greater funding from the state, the impact on our budget could be transformational for the university and our students. But for us to be successful in Harrisburg, it will require a strong effort on behalf of all Penn State stakeholders to show that our students, faculty and staff, families, and the Penn State community at large are engaged in this issue and willing to speak up for Penn State.

The Pennsylvania General Assembly will not easily be swayed, but Penn Staters have the passion and the ability to make our voices heard if we “Raise the Song” in unison. This petition is Penn State’s first advocacy engagement with more than 50 new members in the House and Senate, along with a new governor’s administration.

More than 5,600 proud Penn Staters have signed to show support. Don’t be left out! Please add your name now.
