Welcome to the latest edition of the North Sydney Olympic Pool e-newsletter

Our monthly updates will help keep you informed about the pool redevelopment progress, key milestones, and details about our upcoming state-of-the-art community facility, as we move towards the final stages of construction. 

Project update

Council’s contractor, ICON, is now reporting that the pool construction will be complete by 18 November 2025. Once the completed facility is handed over to Council, we will need to commission and prepare the site for opening, which will take up to 3 months.

Our priority remains delivering a first-class facility that meets the needs of the community, and we will continue to keep you updated.

Here’s the latest progress:

• Upper pool hall: Roofing sheeting over the roof of the indoor pool is in place, and final flashing and ridge cappings are being installed. Installation of ceiling linings to this roof has also started.
• 50m pool area: Paving of the 50m pool concourse and tiling of the main entry to the pool deck is complete. Final cleaning of the 50m pool has started.
• Lower roof area: Glazing between the indoor pool and grandstand area has been installed. The lower roof over the grandstand is ready for roof sheeting and slabs are being prepared to receive tiles and paving.
• Leisure pool area and Ripples Café: Tiling of the children’s outdoor pool is almost finished. Tiling of the hobs in the splash play area are complete and floor surfaces are being prepared to receive pebblecrete. The structural steel for Ripples Café has been assembled, with erection of the steel for the shade structure adjacent to the children’s pool to follow.
• Internal fit-out: Tiling of floors and walls in most amenities and changerooms is substantially complete, with fit out of toilets, vanity fixtures, and handryers in progress.
• External areas: Paving and balustrading of the western stairs is now done, with heritage brickwork matching to be completed. External paving along Olympic Way, external to the southern boundary of the site, is complete.
