Amended guidance on the primary care management of older people with type 2 diabetes is now available for healthcare professionals to access. The European Geriatric Medicine Society and the European Diabetes Working Party for Older People has released an updated version of the Essential steps in primary care management of older people with type 2 diabetes guideline. Care England is supporting the National Advisory Panel on Care Home Diabetes (NAPCHD) as it aims to improve the quality of providers across the social care sector. The NAPCHD guidelines provide a framework within which adult social care providers can understand what best practice looks like and drive to ensure this is reflected in care delivery. People with type 2 diabetes or prediabetes could now be prescribed Wegovy® through a controlled and limited launch.
