Tonight is the CEDRR July Mixer
Tonight, from 5:00-7:00 pm, the Chamber & Economic Development of the Rutland Region's mixer will be hosted by Four Seasons Sotheby's International Realty. In addition to fun, games, food, drinks, networking, and raffles, everyone will receive free tickets to the Sotheby's Family Movie Night at The Paramount Theatre. Four Seasons Sotheby's International Realty is asking everyone to help support The Rutland Community Cupboard by bringing a non-perishable item. SBA Offers Disaster Assistance to Businesses and Residents of Vermont Affected by Recent Severe Storms and Flooding
Low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) are available to businesses and residents in Vermont following the announcement of a Presidential disaster declaration due to damages from severe storms and flooding that began on July 7. SBA Business Recovery Centers will open on Tuesday, July 18 at 8 am at the Vermont Chamber of Commerce in Berlin, and on Wednesday, July 19 at 8 am at the Engel & Völkers Okemo Building in Ludlow. SBA Customer Service Representatives at the Center will assist business owners and residents in filling out a disaster
loan application, accept documents for existing applications, and provide updates on an application's status. The filing deadline to return applications for physical property damage is Sept. 12, 2023. The deadline to return economic injury applications is April 15, 2024. $900,000 Available for Building Communities Grants Program
The Department of Buildings and General Services (BGS) is seeking applicants for this year’s Building Communities Grants program. Grants of up to $25,000 are available for construction and capital improvements to support and strengthen Vermont towns and regions. All grants require a one-to-one match and must demonstrate community support. The deadline for applications is September 10, 2023, and grants will be awarded in October. The grants are awarded to non-profit organizations, regional economic development organizations, and municipalities. The facilities grant categories include human

Eitan Sobel, MD, Named Community Health Nursing Home Service Line Medical Director
Community Health has named Eitan Sobel, MD, Medical Director for the health network’s Nursing Home Service Line.
Dr. Sobel directs the Nursing Home Service Line’s network of medical professionals who support patients that require both long-term care and short-term rehabilitation at three facilities in Rutland, The Pines at Rutland Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, Mountain View Center and Rutland Healthcare & Rehabilitation. Dr. Sobel moved to Vermont in 2008 after a long career as a hospitalist and internal medicine specialist in New York, Massachusetts, Kansas and Missouri. The dust is finally starting to settle on our expansion, though not for long! Our Wood and Metal Shops are now fully transitioned and functional. Take a virtual tour via Instagram here. We will begin classes in those shops soon. The next shop movement is Rapid Prototyping (our 100 Watt laser, 3-D printers, and vinyl cutter). We recently outfitted a new computer lab! This will serve our youth and adult programming in many ways.
