The Future of the College of St. Joseph Campus
As the Housing Trust of Rutland County is studying redevelopment options for the College of St. Joseph campus, we are interested in hearing what community members would like to see the property used for in the future. We are conducting a preference survey to gather input on the type of uses - housing, business, community services, recreation - that may be possible on the site. Please spend a few minutes to fill out to survey and feel free to pass this link along to anyone you feel may be interested in taking part. Save the date. We will be hosting workshop
on August 17th, and the community will be invited for site walks and other activities to explore potential redevelopment scenarios for the site. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and express their preferences. More information will be available shortly. Please email Enman Kesselring Engineers at adydo@enmankesselring.com if you would like receive additional information about the workshop. Take the survey! →

Come Alive Outside's New Board Members Both Have CEDRR Ties
Come Alive Outside is pleased to announce the appointment of Olivia Lyons and Steve Costello to its board of directors. Vermont natives Steve and Olivia share not only a love of the outdoors, but also a background in journalism. Steve recently retired as the Vice President of Customer Care at Green Mountain Power. Olivia is currently the Communications and Marketing Manager for the Chamber & Economic Development of the Rutland Region. Both were friends of Come Alive Outside before they came on the board, with Steve serving on the organization’s steering committee. Though a love of the outdoors is not a qualification to be on the Come Alive Outside board, both Olivia and Steve enjoy hiking and getting active outside. Steve is a nature photographer who loves creating portraits of wild creatures. He also enjoys kayaking and running along scenic routes. Olivia is a newly-minted
snowboarder who also enjoys walking in the woods and paddleboarding. Read the full press release →

This is an events for all ages, so bring the whole family, bring your neighbors, bring your neighbor’s whole family - just leave the pets at home. And, what’s a birthday party without cake? And door prizes? We’ll have both; register to win a free month of membership to The MINT. Come see all that you can make at and meet some of the maker community at the MINT! Last week, July 25-29 we
hosted two camps here at the MINT: MRU middle schoolers came out to explore STEAM powered projects in the Boiler. Youth learned about circuitry, solar ovens, gravity & engineering, and they got creative making their own flags, name badges, and more! Our Build it at the Boiler program continues through August on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings. Rosie’s Girls®, a camp run in
collaboration with Vermont Works for Women, also got hands-on last week. Middle school girls and gender-expansive youth entering grades 6-8 spent each day learning about design, build, material exploration, small hand tools and larger power machinery. The group started each day with affirmations and social-emotional “Power SKills” then set out into the wood shop to get creative. The week ended with some metal shop exploration, including welding! The next session is August 15 and registration is still open! Learn more about The MINT→
