Help Us: Take the City of Rutland Placemaking Survey
Since 2020, The Center on Rural Innovation has worked alongside CEDRR and The Hub CoWorks to develop plans to grow the city’s tech economy in a way that is inclusive and accessible. Our organization is now working on an "Innovation District
Placemaking Plan," and we want to hear from you!
Placemaking focuses on transforming public and public-facing spaces to strengthen the connections between people and these places through a participatory design process. Understanding how people experience the place they call home, their dreams for it, and what they're willing to do about it is crucial to making places better. The more detail you're able to provide, the better! Survey Participants who provide their email address will be entered into a raffle for one of three $15 gift certificates from The Bakery in downtown Rutland City. Take the Survey here →
Regional Priority Project Process for State and Federal Funding Consideration
The Chamber & Economic Development of the Rutland Region, in partnership with the Rutland Regional Planning Commission, is accepting applications from businesses and municipalities to be considered as a Rutland County-based Regional Priority Project. The goal is to produce a list of high-priority economic and community development projects that meet certain eligibility requirements. The regional lists are considered living, dynamic documents
that are continually updated and edited. The lists will be used by regional and local organizations to understand the funding needs of the region and to allow regional economic and community development staff to help match federal and state funding announcements to projects. Applicants are asked to describe the purpose and benefits to the region of the project, describing how the project builds capacity within the region for improved economic development or community development and/or advances the goals, objectives, and most pressing needs of the region. The deadline for applications is Wednesday, November 8th at 5:00 pm. If you have questions please reach out to Cooper Babbitt, CEDRR Operations Director, at cooper@rutlandeconomy.com. To apply, email Lyle Jepson for a link →
