Champ of Champs Fours FinalThe Fours was the final discipline in the 2022-2023 Champ of Champs series, in what would deliver oohs and aahs along with the highs and lows of this addictive sport! Without a doubt, it has been an exciting series, and the calibre of the competition has been thrilling – with many matches going right down to the wire! Interestingly, this series has had a great representation of club champions. It’s not just the prominent players/teams and clubs going onto the winner’s podium – the titles have been spread. Samoan Language Week is celebrated for one week, starting from the end of May to the beginning of June — the exact date differs annually. This year, it falls on May 28 to June 3. This is celebrated in New Zealand to honour the Samoan culture and language, which is the language of the Samoan Islands — comprising Samoa and the United States territory of American Samoa. The Samoan language is an official language, alongside English, in both jurisdictions. It is a widely spoken language throughout the Pacific region, particularly in New Zealand, Australia, and the United States. The Samoan language is a Polynesian language, which is the first language of most Samoan Islanders. The Samoan language is the third-most widely spoken language in New Zealand as of 2018. Pink Ribbon EveningOn Saturday 28 May, the Auckland Bowling Club was the venue for an extravagant multi-cultural Pink Ribbon Fundraiser. It was an incredible event with over 100 women, a fabulous fashion show featuring Annah Stretton and showcasing cultural attire from around the world. The ladies enjoyed a great bowls session that went on into the evening and the DJ really got the dancing into gear. We enjoy hosting these charitable events for the community and introducing those to bowls who had never played before. -- Annaliese Rands KBC@KBC Spots for a few more Pairs to join the August court for a very civilised 10am start.
