2023 Vermont Planning Survey
Spring has Brought Us Growth, Organization, and New Ways to Collaborate
We are excited to announce Morgan Over as the Director of Operations.
Morgan's experience with construction and trade skills, ceramics, woodworking and making, innovating, networking, and tinkering puts her comfortably in The MINT community. She was the core part of Operations in 2021, taking a bit of a sabbatical in 2022. Now back as Director of Operations, this role challenges her in new ways to help lead our organization from an operational and systems perspective. Over the past six weeks, Morgan has been working with our Operations Team, our Board of Directors, and our Executive Director to envision where The MINT is headed and how we get there. She has translated her knowledge of building and machine components into how The MINT's operational components function best.
The excitement continues with more announcements! The MINT received a $55,000 grant award from the Vermont Agency of Education (AOE). The AOE awarded a total of eight grants under their Summer of STEM funding for 2023. We join the ranks of Vermont Works for Women, UVM Extension, Brattleboro's HatchSpace, Burlington's Generator, and others. This funding will support our five STEM-focused summer camps: Textile Camp, Outdoor Maker Camp, End of Summer Camp, and two Rosie's Girls camps. This funding allows us to offer all of these camps at no cost to families. This funding also puts us in a position to strategically budget and fundraise, especially as we look toward sustainably providing youth STEM and STEAM education. Our adult education opportunities continue to thrive. Upcoming offerings include: Gnomes in the Pottery Studio
