Stakeholders Engagement SurveyAt Bowls Auckland, our stakeholders—including clubs, members, players, coaches, umpires, and partners—are the heart of our community and we’re here to support you all. Over the past 12 to 24 months, we’ve introduced some exciting changes, including a refreshed strategic direction, enhanced communication tools, and a new staffing structure. Now, we’d love to hear from you! We want to understand how we’re doing, recognise what’s working well, and identify improvement areas. To gather these insights, we’ve created a Stakeholder Engagement Survey. Unlike our Events/Tournament Survey, this survey focuses on our broader activities, such as club support through programmes and funding, marketing efforts to reach new audiences, and our school engagement initiatives. The survey is open to everyone. We have sections tailored for different club representatives, including members/players, coaches, umpires, and more. We encourage you to take a few moments to share your thoughts—your feedback is invaluable as we continue to serve and grow our community. 👉 TAKE THE SURVEY This survey will close at midnight on Sunday 17 November. Memorable moments at the Clif Shanks 2-4-2 Pairs-- Alastair McKenzie The Clif Shanks Memorial 2-4-2 Pairs tournament, held over Labour Weekend at Royal Oak Bowls, was a fantastic event filled with competitive spirit and camaraderie. John Carruthers (Royal Oak) and Teo Turua (Bridge Park) emerged victorious in the Main Event with an impressive 18-8 win. This win marked Teo’s third Clif Shanks title and John’s second—a notable achievement for both bowlers. In the Plate Event, the ever-popular Royal Oak duo Sam Toloke and Rima Strickland triumphed over John Petelo (Pt Chevalier) and Kolani Maota (Dollar) (Grey Lynn). Meanwhile, the Shoot-out was taken by Liam Hill (Auckland) and Danny Delany (Royal Oak), showcasing the depth of talent on display throughout the tournament. The Main Final featured a memorable moment when John Carruthers sported his Royal Oak cap during play, only to reveal a Bridge Park shirt underneath at the end. “Teo threw me a shirt, so it made sense to wear the same as him!” John shared with a laugh. A big thank you to sponsors Metlifecare Retirement Villages and PAK'nSAVE Royal Oak, and the dedicated Rockets volunteer team, whose efforts ensured the tournament ran smoothly.
