First up, it's the first week of Bowls 3Five. Twenty-four teams from 13 clubs go head-to-head over the next three weeks! Divided into four sections, and playing two rounds weekly, the action will be epic as these teams battle for a spot in the top eight! Last night, Carlton Cornwall and Auckland Bowling Club hosted week one, and what a start it was! 👉DRAW & RESULTS HERE - but check in later for the standings for week one! Excitement & skills at 1-5 PairsThe 1-5 Year Men’s and Women’s Pairs delivered a weekend filled with skill, emerging talent and excitement—a positive nod that the future of bowls in our region is heading in the right direction. Both competitions featured intense matches, new faces, and captivating storylines that had spectators and selectors eager for the finals. The Finals promise to be thrilling! There's a rematch between last season’s 1-5 Singles finalists, Rebecca Brosnan and Nicole Singer, squaring off again—this time with new partners. Fans, you'll have to wait until the Open Finals in December to see how it all plays out. In the meantime, Carlton Cornwall will host the 1-5 Year Men’s Finals on Sunday, 20 October, featuring the Men’s Pairs and the Fours. Bold new future for the ORBC-- excerpt from Oratia BC Newsletter Exciting changes are happening at the Oratia Bowling Club as work progresses on replacing the grass green with a new artificial turf. Tiger Turf is scheduled to begin installation on 4 November, with the project expected to take approximately five weeks. A huge thank you to the 30 volunteers who joined us e our working bee on 13 September, helping us make significant progress. A special thanks to Josh Moala and South Seas Construction for their continued support and expertise. Since the working bee, our dedicated club members, volunteers, and some of our new board members have been busy, putting in countless hours to prepare the green and clubrooms. It’s also been heartening to see so many members and friends of OBC rally behind the club's vision of becoming a welcoming community hub for everyone to enjoy. Get ready for interclub!The greens are ready, and so are the players! This Saturday, 19 October, is week one of the Taylor Interclub 8s and Half Day 6s. With nine divisions competing across 13 venues, this comp is set to be action-packed as teams battle it out for club pride—what a perfect way to launch the new season!
