Mark your calendars: October 14-18

First-year recruiting events will officially kick off on Monday, October 14, the start of Wharton's fall semester Modular Term. (Learn more about Modular Terms here.)

During this dedicated first-year recruiting week, Wharton alumni and recruiters from 50+ companies across industries will host information sessions and other events for their summer internship programs. A few examples include:

Most events will be hosted in person, but some companies will be offering opportunities to connect virtually as well. Stay tuned for more details. As events are confirmed, they will be added to CareerPath Events. 

Key Dates for First-Year Recruiting

• Now: 1Y Employer Info Sessions are visible in CareerPath (added on a rolling basis)

• August 26: 1Y Interviews and Job Postings will be visible in CareerPath

• September 27: 1Y Coffee Chats will be visible in CareerPath

• September 30: Registrations open for 1Y Employer Info Sessions

• October 2: Sign-ups begin for Coffee Chat schedules (rolling)

• October 9: Final deadline to submit resume to 1Y Class Resume Book

• October 14: 1Y Recruiting begins this week (and runs for multiple weeks!)

• Nov-Dec: Peak period for application deadlines for mature/earlier-timed processes

• January 3-10: Focused Recruiting Period (FRP), Wharton's dedicated on-campus interview period for mature/earlier-timed processes

• Enterprise recruiting season will ramp up in the spring following FRP

• Workshop: Building Your Wharton Resume
  Thursday 8/29 @ 12:30pm (JMHH G06) | Register in CareerPath
  MBACM advisors will share best practices and recommended resources for developing a strong MBA resume and answer any questions about the First Year Resume Book process, including opportunities to get feedback.

Wharton Student-Alumni Programs

The MBACM Alumni Team, in partnership with External Affairs, hosts several student-alumni engagement events throughout the fall. Look out for an email next week with lottery registration details.

• Wharton Power Dinner: Samantha Greenberg (WG'98), CFO at ID.me

  The Wharton Power Dinner program connect small groups of MBA students with senior-level alumni with deep expertise in enterprise industry areas

  This program is designed to create an informal atmosphere where MBA students will have the opportunity to meet 1:1 with Wharton alumni from a variety of enterprise industries.

• Classroom to Consultant Series: How to Recruit Firm by Firm
  Thursday 9/12 @ 5:15-6:30pm (JMHH G06) | Register in CareerPath
  Join the MBACM Consulting Team for an overview of the consulting internship recruiting process and firm-specific recruiting information. This event will not be recorded, but slides will be available in MAP after the presentation.

• Workshop: CPG Brand Management: A Closer Look

  Join MBACM advisor and CPG industry veteran Sugirtha Stathis (see bio) to learn more about the role of a brand manager, how it's distinct from marketing roles in other industries, and what it takes to succeed in the recruiting process. A brief presentation will be followed by open Q&A.

• Workshop: Media and Entertainment Young Alumni Panel

  Join the MBACM Media & Entertainment team and the Media & Entertainment Club for a discussion with young alums in the M&E industry. The conversation will include insight into the panelists’ career trajectory, experiences in the industry, advice for recruiting, reflections from their time at Wharton, and so much more.

  Learn about Penn's resources for founders, joiners, investors, and explorers, including co-curricular workshops led by alumni and subject matter experts, physical resources, funding options, and networking opportunities.

  This unique fair aims to connect innovative Penn startups with passionate individuals eager to join early-stage ventures. The event will feature interactive booths, and networking opportunities. The "Joiner Fair" is an opportunity to build meaningful connections and explore exciting new ventures.

  At The Food Innovation Lab, we're passionate about fostering creativity and innovation within the food industry. The 800-square-foot facility is a dynamic hub that provides invaluable resources to a diverse cohort of food entrepreneurs.
