CUSE Funding Competitions 2023! The CUSE Team are delighted to announce that we have launched Two Major funding opportunities, open now. Don't hesitate, get involved and apply. This could be the opportunity you have been waiting for! - Social Impact Challenge 2023 Competition Deadline to Apply: Friday 5 May 2023 at Midnight The Social Impact Challenge 2023 Competition, funded by Coventry University as part of the Launch Programme. With a £10,000 pot available, we are excited to offer start-up funds to businesses that can demonstrate sustainable and ethical solutions to social challenges. Applicants are invited to submit proposals that address a clearly articulated social challenge and offer substantial social value while also being economically sustainable. This social challenge can be of any type but must be economically sustainable and delivering substantial social value. To apply either scan the QR code using a Smartphone or click the icon below to begin the Social Impact Challenge application process. The Try It & Do It Competitions are an opportunity to apply for start-up funds of £15,000 for students and graduates (who graduated within the last 3 years). Apply now to win a share of the funds and take your business to the next level. The Try It & Do It Fund Competitions are funded by Santander Universities UK and Coventry University as part of the Launch Programme. Collaborate To Train 2023 Picking Up Pace - Student Opportunity To Get Involved Our Collaborate To Train programme is picking up pace with several SME's contacting us after our last newsletter expressing interest to sign up. Coventry University Students, Get Involved CU Students this is an opportunity to expand on your current studies within the CU Group and gain valuable experience working alongside an SME which will build up your CV showing further employers your potential. We have several SME's that are eager for you to get involved to support them in a project that will enhance your skillset and help the SME in their areas of need. Don't miss out on an opportunity that does not come along often. 3. LAUNCH Training Cohort 35 Achievers Cohort 35 has now come to a conclusion and a big congratulations to our students that delivered their business pitch to the group. We asked some of the students at the end of the programme to briefly sum up what they thought of the LAUNCH Training that they went through. "The people organizing the programme were great. Very professional yet caring. Also the immense learning I received during a short period of time from the staff" "Informative and confidence building. I really enjoyed meeting and working with others different to myself" "The content of the programme and the people involved with the program were really supportive" Our aspiring Entrepreneurs who have now completed their LAUNCH Training, move onto the next stage of LAUNCH where they will be partnered with a Mentor on the LAUNCH Mentoring Programme. Each individual will be allocated 12 hours Mentoring, 1-2-1 sessions with their Mentor who will support in areas to implementation and start-up to also looking at potentially generating revenue. We are all looking forward to seeing the start-ups that are already taking positive shape and showcasing some of these success stories to you. We are delivering other Cohorts through the summer, if you have a business idea and want to be part of the LAUNCH Training, please select the link to go to our cuse-launch.com Training page to submit your application to join one of them. We have both In-Person & Virtual Online Intensive Cohorts running. Connect2 Connect2 is a project, based at CUSE that can offer you free one-to-one support towards starting your own business or social enterprise. You can also be supported to find work or further training. To be eligible for Connect2, you must be aged 16+, have the right to live and work in the UK, be unemployed or economically inactive (e.g. full-time study) and live in a CV1 – CV6 postcode. CUSE Plant a Tree With all that is taking place the CUSE Team made time to get involved and celebrate raising funds for our colleague, Steve Crump, to plant a tree on the CU Campus grounds. At CUSE we are always embracing and promoting on our programmes and activities the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. It is our responsibility as Entrepreneurship educators to ensure that we promote responsible attitudes towards the environment and how we can make a positive impact. The project helped Yang to develop her ideas and to build capacity for a new business start-up, including finance, marketing and networking. Jianbing Hut is located in Torrington Avenue in Tile Hill, Coventry, and available via Deliveroo at https://deliveroo.co.uk/ 5. Enhancing Futures, May 2023 Bookings Now Open CUSE continues and looks forward to contributing towards Coventry University's Enhancing Futures Events taking place this May. Enhancing Futures is a programme designed to increase student employability, boost their transferable skills and get them ready for life after uni. Managing mental health, business ideation, the world of work & marketing yourself are just some of the FREE professional development sessions aimed to develop your employability & life attributes, through graduation, into employment & beyond. If you are looking to have a session where one of our staff comes to visit and gives a talk about what is involved in our LAUNCH Programmes then do please get in touch.
