The ARV Industry Awards recognise and reward outstanding achievement and commitment to the industry. After receiving a Highly Commended last year, Shannon’s dedication and excellence in swim teaching have earned her the top prize in 2024. Fight to keep Australia Post shop in central Frankston openCouncil has joined business operators and residents urging Australia Post not to close the outlet in Wells Street, central Frankston. Mayor Nathan Conroy said the Australia Post shop in central Frankston was an essential service at the heart of our community, adding: “Our CBD is one of nine metropolitan activity centres designated by the Victorian Government to support business and residential growth, and the delivery of essential services for the community." Australia Post has announced plans for the closure of the Frankston Central Post Shop in August. Check out the online petition via the link. Now open: upgraded play space at Austin Reserve, SeafordAustin Reserve is a large tree-lined park located near Belvedere Reserve and Belvedere Bushland Reserve. To tie in with the natural surrounds, the play space upgrade features recycled materials including bluestone pavers that have been incorporated into a stone maze and garden bed walls. For imaginative play, there’s animals carved into logs and a tangram snake also made from recycled materials. Head down to enjoy: new seating, accessible drinking fountain, kick-about area, swings, nature play, accessible picnic table, junior play structure (tunnel, slide, steps, climbing ramps and shop counter) and landscaping. That means: Four change rooms, umpires’ rooms, public toilets, first aid rooms, canteen/kiosk, accessible lift, storage, kitchen and more. We celebrated the opening with representatives from Langwarrin Football and Netball Club, Langwarrin Junior Football Club and Langwarrin Cricket Club, Federal Member for Dunkley Jodie Belyea MP and Frankston Mayor Nathan Conroy.
