Promoting and protecting the data, insights and research industry NEW RESOURCES AVAILABLE
EVERY DAY BRINGS MORE DATA BREACHES Sadly, data breaches are becoming more frequent, with serious consequences for individuals, clients and corporate reputations. Earlier this month, an inquiry was launched into an alleged data breach involving Clubs NSW and a third-party IT provider, prompting concerns that the personal records of over one million customers may have been compromised. This was followed by another significant data breach involving e-script provider MediSecure, announced by the national cyber security coordinator. This incident has put thousands of personal and sensitive information at risk due to a large-scale ransomware data breach at the health organisation. As ADIA members, you know how critical best practice privacy practices and information security measures are to your business, clients, and the industry. ADIA is delighted to announce the following new training materials to support your commitment to best practices and to help mitigate risk to your business. Exclusive and free for members, these materials are crafted to meet the needs of research, data, and insights organisations and are specifically designed to support your company in the crucial areas of privacy and information security. What is a Service Level Agreement (SLA)? The SLA outlines the standards and metrics that ADIA members should expect their providers to adhere to when supplying services and technologies to their company. SLAs have become critical tools for companies that rely on external providers for key operational functions. They define the expected levels of service, responsibilities of each party, and repercussions if requirements are unmet. This transparency protects both the service provider and your company. Why do you need one? An SLA is essential when outsourcing processes involving sensitive data, such as personal information. It ensures clear guidelines and accountability measures are in place between you and your provider. How do I access the template? We encourage all members to review the updated 2024 SLA to help ensure your providers continue to deliver exceptional services. You can access the SLA by logging into the ADIA Academy training portal and downloading the template. If you don't have Academy access, please email theresa@dataandinsights.com.au for login credentials. Cyber Health Checklists |
