Keep up-to-date with what's been going on at Highgate Hill House School! Principal updateHello all, I hope that you are all keeping well and that you have been enjoying the beautiful frosty mornings of late. So far this month, we've been busy moving classrooms around, updating wall displays, creating a new library area and just generally trying to make the most of the space that we have available to us. Thank you to everyone involved for their efforts! It was lovely to see some of you at the Coffee and Cake morning on 25th January, I hope that you enjoyed the chance to catch up with fellow parents and carers over some delicious homemade cakes! Finally, please do take a look at some of the pupils recent creative projects further down in this newsletter - quite simply, unbelievable talents! As always, if you have any questions, or anything you would like to discuss with me, please don't hesitate to get in touch in the usual way: kerry.taylor@hhhschool.co.uk, 01288 341998 or 07534 659306. Warm wishes, Kerry Taylor Principal Salvador Dali projectSome of our pupils have been busy this month learning about and creating art inspired by world-renowned Surreallism artist, Salvador Dali. We were quite literally blown away by their efforts, and very pleased to say that some of their pieces are now on display in school. They are just too good not to share! Highgate's Got TalentAs you know, we have had to move the date for this event again to try and ensure that various key contestants and their parents/carers can attend. We apologise for the inconvenience, but it promises to be such a fantastic event that we want to make sure that as many people as possible are able to attend and enjoy it. The new date for this event is: Thursday 9th February at 1pm We are asking parents/carers to confirm their attendance on this new date to reserve seats. If you haven't already done this, please could you give us a call on 01288 341998? Many thanks.
Story stonesIt's not just our pupils that are a talented bunch, our staff have some pretty amazing skills too! Check out these story stones....created to help one of our pupils verbally create his own version of the 'Captain Underpants' story. Welcome to new staff membersWe are very pleased to have Sarah Davies who joined us recently as a Teacher, Poppy Martin-Williams who has joined us as a Tutor, and Laura Syddall who has joined us as a Cook to support Sharon in the school kitchen. You've all settled into the HHHS Team so quickly, and we wish you every success in your new roles. Food banksWe know that times are incredibly tough at the moment, with the cost of living crisis meaning that outgoings are considerably more than they have been in recent years. We've put together a blog article with information on how food banks work, and how you can access them. If you are struggling, please don't hesitate to contact the school and we will do our best to support you.
