Volunteer Opportunity Spotlight: 8th Annual August Wilson Birthday Celebration Block Party
Join Pittsburgh's historic Hill District in a free, family-friendly Block Party while celebrating the birthday of the late Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright August Wilson.
On Saturday, April 27, this event will feature over 150 vendors, children's activities, a foam party, lip sync battle, food trucks, musical performances, and more!

412 Food Rescue x Pittsburgh Marathon
Help support the participants of the 2024 DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon as they cross the finish line! Race day is Sunday, May 5 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Volunteers are needed to:

Distribute water, sports drinks, heat sheets, and food to finishers
-
Set up tables
-
Keep cups and food filled
Note: the job may require some volunteers to lift gallons of water and approximately 10-20 pound boxes.

Volunteer with the Pittsburgh Community Reinvestment Group (PCRG)
PCRG will host its 14th Annual Community Development Summit on Wednesday, May 8 and Thursday, May 9. This year's theme is Equity in Action: Prioritizing & Advancing Racial Equity & Equality of Underserved Communities.
Volunteer needed include:

Greeters

Registration booth attendants

Survey collectors

Session coordinators

Floaters
As a bonus, PCRG will provide each volunteer with:

Volunteer with Handmade Arcade
Volunteer with the one-of-a-kind Handmade Arcade where 30+ talented makers and artists come together for the Spring Market! This year's market takes place on Saturday, May 18 at Construction Junction.
Volunteer are needed for both indoor and outdoor duties:
Indoor duties:

Vendor load-in/set up support

Greeting attendees

Answering questions

Offering vendor breaks

Selling raffle tickets
Outdoor duties:

Directing shoppers to parking lots
Volunteers will receive:

15 raffle tickets for the Spring Market raffle

Volunteer opportunities at Pitt are open to all members of the University community and provide a chance to make meaningful connections with your colleagues and classmates.

Students may volunteer for any opportunity that interests them (plus, some are eligible for OCC credit!).

Faculty may volunteer as many hours as their time and inclination allows.

Staff are eligible to receive paid time off each month to participate in community service or volunteer activities. Full-time regular staff members may use up to 7.5 hours during regular working hours per month; part-time regular staff members are eligible for pro-rated volunteer time.
