The Summer That Was

The residents of and visitors to British Columbia experienced a summer of paradoxes. Forest fires ravaged many parts of BC, while several other areas enjoyed a wonderful, virtually smoke and fire-free summer. Our sincere condolences go out to those who experienced loss or damage to their properties. And we are sorry for those visitors who had their vacation to BC disrupted.

We look forward to seeing you again.

We can't wait to return to a winter of adventure, lots of snow and tons of fun. Whether you ski tour, snowboard, snowshoe or ski mountaineer, we look forward to seeing you at a BLBCA member lodge this winter.

Mountain Escape Podcast Returns - x2

Don't miss either of these episodes, the 1st with Christoph Dietzfelbinger, owner/operator/guide of the Burnie Glacier Chalet, located in the Coast Mountains near Smithers, BC. Often with humorous anecdotes, Christoph provides a revealing glimpse into the challenges and benefits of operating a backcountry lodge "up north."

The 2nd is with Bobbie Douglas, manager of Tyax Adventures, located in the Southern Chilcotin Mountains near Goldbridge, BC. Bobbie shares insights into growing up in this amazing backcountry environment. This is where they put the "mountain" in mountain biking.
