FACULTY DEVELOPMENT ANNOUNCEMENTSDeadline Reminder: Career Conference and Performance Review The School of Medicine prioritizes the career development of its faculty in scholarship, teaching, and professional service. The Career Conference and Performance Review (CCPR) evaluates performance in these areas to ensure ongoing professional engagement. The CCPR is one of the metrics monitored by LCME and is required annually for all faculty in the School of Medicine. The one exception is faculty hired after September 1, 2023, who are not due for review until one full year after their hire date. DOM's internal deadline for CCPR completion is Saturday, August 31. For CCPR questions, please contact Bevin Pascual. NEW! We now have a helpful step-by-step guide for faculty on how to prepare for and complete their CCPR evaluation. Click here to access the guide. 2024 Department of Medicine Honors and Awards Each year during the annual Department of Medicine Kathy Griendling Honors and Awards Celebration, we recognize faculty and staff for their exceptional contributions and achievements. Along with award nominees, we also recognize recently promoted faculty to Associate Professor or Professor and faculty who received Clinical Distinctions. Leading up to this momentous occasion, the Office of Faculty Development is excited to announce each group of honorees over the next four weeks. Their achievements exemplify the high standards of excellence we uphold in the Department of Medicine. If you are interested in learning more about promotions, the Clinical Distinctions program, or specific faculty and staff awards, please email us or visit the Office of Faculty Development website here. DOM Faculty Development's new website is LIVE! Have you wondered what Faculty Development entails? Faculty Development encompasses many different components and includes both personal and professional development. At the core, we believe that engagement in professional development opportunities can enhance career satisfaction, create an inclusive environment (RYSE), and provide a sense of belonging that enhances professional fulfillment. The components of faculty development include our academic missions (clinical, education, research, and scholarship), and other facets that promote these missions (recognizing faculty for their accomplishments, building leadership skills, mentorship, and faculty promotions). Check out our newly updated website for information on upcoming events, promotion and tenure resources, faculty recognition programs, mentoring, and career development.
