Taylor Interclub wraps up in style!

Two weekends of sunshine, great bowls, and plenty of club spirit, the 2025 Taylor Interclub Eights & Sixes wrapped up last weekend with more than 550 competitors taking part across Auckland.

In the Men’s Premier, Howick Hammerheads continued their strong run to secure the title, while St Heliers surged through to claim the Women’s Premier crown. Mt Wellington Magic lived up to their name in the Any Combination division, and Balmoral and Papatoetoe Power Rangers took out the Sixes Blue and Sixes White titles respectively.

A special thanks goes to Les Smith for his fantastic work coordinating results from multiple venues and keeping the competition running smoothly and to all the clubs, volunteers, and players who made this the largest participation-based event on our calendar once again.

Congratulations to all winners and competitors, you’ve set a great tone for the season ahead!

500 Club gaining momentum

Exciting things are happening at the Bowls Auckland Foundation, which launched in August 2025 as an independent charitable trust dedicated to growing and advancing bowls across the Auckland region.

The Trustees are currently focused on building capital to help the Foundation deliver on its mission, including tangible support for clubs through the newly established Club Investment Fund, which backs vital facility and capability projects.

At the heart of the Foundation are our incredible donors who are a mix of passionate bowlers and generous supporters who simply want to give back to the game and the community that has given them so much.

One of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to get involved is by joining the 500 Club. Your annual $500 donation directly supports the future of bowls in Auckland and comes with exclusive member benefit including tickets to select Bowls Auckland events, such as the prestigious Awards Luncheon.

It’s quick and easy to join and the donation can be made in full or split into two equal instalments, and its fully tax deductible.

Be part of something special by helping us grow the game for generations to come!
