Taking Advantage of Pitt’s Education Benefits

Pitt offers a variety of educational and tuition-reimbursement benefits at the Pittsburgh campus and all regional campuses for eligible employees, their dependents, and their spouse or domestic partner.

Visit the OHR website to explore all education benefits offered by the University by employment role, learn about special programs such as Pitt’s College in High School Program, and review important dates, deadlines, and required forms for the year ahead.

Before applying or requesting the benefit, review the frequently asked questions about eligibility and policy details. Most importantly, be sure to submit all required documentation on time!

Upcoming deadlines

  • Aug. 15, 2026: Request forms for Summer 2026 education benefits for dependents should be submitted by this date. Benefit requests for Summer 2026 will not be accepted after this date.

  • Sept. 16, 2026: Request forms for Fall 2026 education benefits for dependents should be submitted by this date to avoid tuition-related late fees.

  • Oct. 31, 2026: To retain education benefits for the fall semester, an employee must remain in an eligible role through Oct. 31, 2026. The benefit will be rescinded if an employee voluntarily terminates or moves to an ineligible position prior to that date.

  • Dec. 13, 2026: This is the final deadline to request Fall 2026 education benefits. Education benefit requests must be submitted prior to the end of the requested term. Benefit requests for Fall 2026 will not be accepted after this date.

  • Deadlines for Spring and Summer 2027 are available on our website.

Other programs worth noting: Learn more about other available programs offered through the University, such as the Tuition Exchange Scholarship or the Falk Laboratory School.

Please note that Tuition Exchange is a scholarship program administered by the Financial Aid Office and is not an employee benefit. Availability and award determinations are made by the Financial Aid Office and are not guaranteed. The Falk Laboratory School tuition discount is managed directly by the Falk Laboratory School.
