Pitt Students Are Solving Real Problems. Here's What They Built.

In its first year, the University of Pittsburgh Cloud Innovation Center (CIC), powered by AWS, brought together student developers and real University partners to build AI solutions that are already making an impact. From cutting a coach's manual video review time from hours to minutes, to reducing medical data processing time for health sciences researchers, the CIC's student developers are building open-source solutions in record time.

The skills behind that work — meeting stakeholder expectations, navigating ambiguity, and finding creative solutions to tough problems — are the ones that will define the workforce of the next decade. Not every student developer has a technical background, and in fact, creative thinking and outside-of-the-box problem solving is behind every CIC project.
