Spotlight: Summer Undergraduate Program in Renal ResearchKudos to the Division of Renal Medicine on another great summer with their Summer Undergraduate Program in Emory Renal Research (SUPERR) cohort! After ten weeks of hands-on training, research, and mentorship at Emory, these students presented the culmination of their research at the National Institute of Health's Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium. Outstanding jobs to these future scientists and physicians! Thank you to SUPERR's principal investigators, Jason Cobb, MD, and Jeanie Park, MD, for their hard work in leading this program for the eleventh year. Recruitment for 2025 will begin this December. If you know someone who might be a good fit, please encourage them to apply! SUPERR promotes an appreciation for the study of kidney, urology, and hematologic (KUH) diseases among undergraduate students who are interested in furthering their scientific research and could be encouraged to pursue a career in biomedical scientific research. Early exposure of undergraduate researchers to these exciting areas of study will give promising students first-hand experience in laboratory methods to answer questions that directly affect human health and disease. The goal is to foster sustained interest in KUH diseases, thereby increasing the number of students applying to PhD, MD, and dual degree programs and increasing the cadre of scientists in the biomedical workforce studying these topics in the future. General Internal Medicine celebrates the retirement of long-term faculty member, Clyde Partin, MD The Division of General Internal Medicine recently celebrated the retirement and career of long-term faculty member, Clyde Partin, Jr. MD. Dr. David Roberts, Director of the Seavey Clinic, describes Partin as “the heart and soul of the Seavey Clinic – a trusted and revered doctor who is loved and looked up to by his colleagues, patients, staff, and students.
