GREEN SUPPLIER DIRECTORY - FEATURED CASE STUDY

Big Green Coach x Boardmasters: 11 years of carbon neutral travel

Big Green Coach has worked closely with the organisers of Boardmasters for the last 11 years to continuously improve sustainable events travel and reduce the number of cars travelling to the remote, rural site.

Over 5,000 Boardmasters festival goers travelled by coach in 2023, with over 200 vehicles operating over the week of the festival. Big Green Coach removed over 50 miles of traffic congestion off the roads of Cornwall, hugely reducing carbon emissions. A fleet of modern coaches using technology minimised emissions, coupled with clever scheduling from the operations team. Read the full case study for more strategies that helped reduce emission HERE.

ecolibrium's event industry community invest over £650,000 in climate projects

The event charity ecolibrium celebrated a milestone in its community’s collective impact: reaching over £650,000 invested in climate projects to address the impact of travel at events.

Founded by festival organisers to tackle travel impacts at live events, typically the largest source of carbon emissions at greenfield music festivals, ecolibrium’s mission is to move low carbon travel into the heart of live events culture and unite their community of events, music companies, crew and artists in environmental restoration. Watch ecolibrium's video and read more about the impact of the donations for climate project partners HERE.

Fusion Festivals Case Study: Exit Festival, Serbia

Each month we feature a case study from the FUSION – Festivals as Social Innovation Incubators project:

This month we turn the spotlight on Exit Festival (Serbia,180,000 capacity over 4 days). The festival was founded in 2000 in University Park as a student movement fighting for democracy and freedom in Serbia and the Balkans. Each year, about 50 organisations and institutions from Novi Sad, Serbia, the entire region, and Europe get a chance to present themselves at the State of EXIT Zone, where young people from all over the world get to know each other and exchange ideas about regional support and cooperation. Find out more on the Fusion website.

Future Festival Tools Case Study: Tollwood Festival, Germany

Tollwood Festival (Munich, Germany, capacity 1.5 million visitors in 60 festival days), has an ambitious environmental sustainability strategy spanning many areas: this case study focuses on their food and drink offering and how they have created an organic supply chain by working closely with local restaurants and suppliers. Read the case study on the Future Festival Tools website.
