Match Day 2019
 

Dear colleagues:

The Department of Medicine is thrilled to introduce the incoming 2025–2026 Combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Residency program interns! This incoming class of four PGY1 candidates and one PGY2 transfer candidate will start their residencies this July.

Match Day is an exciting day in the careers of young physicians, and it represents the culmination of their hard work over four or more years of medical school training.  This is an especially exciting year as it is the first year of Emory's Med/Peds Residency program!

This year, our first year that the Emory Med/Peds program has participated in Match, we received more than 350 applications for four residency spots to recruit a class of highly talented trainees. Our incoming class represents 5 medical schools from 5 states nationwide.

PGY-1 Residents

 

Paetyn Cage, MD

Medical School: Southern Illinois University School of Medicine
Interests: Health equity, medical education
Hobbies: I love all things related to popular culture! Every year, I try to watch all the films nominated for "Best Picture", so I have an opinion when the Academy Awards air.

 
 
 

Julia Chase, MD

Medical School: Wayne State University School of Medicine
Interests: Global health, medical education
Hobbies: Acrylic painting, including painting on mirrors and copper. I'm training now for a "driathlon."

 
 
 

Ryann Dahle, MD

Medical School: Meharry Medical College
Interests: Transitions of care for medically complex children
Hobbies: I love game days with my family! I also enjoy smoking meats on a pellet grill and making coffee on my espresso machine.

 

Anastasiya Yakovlyeva, MD

Medical School: Indiana University School of Medicine
Interests: Substance use disorders
Hobbies: Cross stitching and embroidery inspire me creatively. I enjoy true crime documentaries and podcasts. "Morbid" on Spotify is my favorite!

 

PGY-2 Resident

 

Myriam Shehata, MD 

Medical School: Transfer from University of Southern California Medical Center Med/Peds Program
Interests: Care for vulnerable populations, advocacy in medicine
Hobbies/interests: Reading, writing, poetry, running, hiking, and amateur baking.
