The federal election and you

With the federal election on May 21, the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) is providing assistance for people living with disability to ensure they are not disadvantaged from participating in the electoral system.

Easy read guides have been developed explaining how to enrol to vote and how to vote on election day, as well as a video with Auslan and captions on how to ask for assistance from the AEC at the polling booth .

Information in languages other than English will also help people from non-English speaking backgrounds understand enrolling and voting.

Accessible voting options including polling booth accessibility, frequently asked questions and factsheets are also available.
