RECRUITMENT TIPS

How to Onboard New Team Members

The future of onboarding is all about WOWing your new employee. Being a strong team fit, feeling welcome and having a purpose will increase an employee's happiness and engagement in the workplace.

The average employee will spend up to one-third of their life at work. And who wants to spend a third of their life hanging around people who don’t care, in a role they don’t understand, for a business that doesn’t genuinely care about them? No one - so they leave!

Experience-driven onboarding focuses on the experience of onboarding, rather than the process. It emphasises an individual’s experience, celebrates their uniqueness and strengths, and encourages them to do what they do best in a team that’s empowered to do the same.

So if you truly want to improve your employee engagement, reduce staff turnover and get off on the right foot with new team members, the obvious place to start is at the beginning – onboarding.
