Registration is open for The Sustainable Event Summit 10th edition (SES26), hosted at the Showman's Show on Wednesday 21st October 2026. Presenting the latest research, tools, and knowledge to bring outdoor event organisers, suppliers, local authorities, and experts together, the summit drives collaboration, resource development, industry standards, best practice, and innovation.

Supported by Ticket Tailor and RÖDER UK & Cover Marque (venue provider), SES26 kicks off a four-year plan with a focus on Energy (2026/7) and launch of a new edition Smart Power Guide; a roundtable session for festivals in collaboration with the Association of Independent Festival’s Sustainability Step Change Fund Program and the Vision 2030 Climate Pledge; The Green Suppliers Awards; and a 'Best of the Summer' panel to showcase innovative approaches from the 2026 event season.

Seçil has worked in the cultural sector for nearly 20 years and is the founder of Atölye Deneme Art & Ecology Association. She works on sustainability within the creative sector, focusing on learning through real-life practice and behaviour change. Through Street Music Festival, Earth Film Festival, Do Something Day, workshops and public programmes, she creates projects that make sustainable living part of everyday life. Stefan Edwards is Senior Events Officer at Bristol City Council, he leads on commissioning Bristol Harbour Festival and Bristol Run. Stefan has increasingly specialised in event sustainability and was recently awarded a prestigious Churchill Fellowship to research innovative approaches to decarbonising event power. The Future of Music & Entertainment Summit returns on Wednesday 24 June 2026 at Sony Music UK in King's Cross, London, as part of Earthfest 2026. 

The summit brings together 100 of the most influential voices in music, film, gaming, media, and live events to ask a simple but urgent question: how does our industry lead on climate action?

The Vision team will be joining discussions to share findings and actions from the recently published Show Must Go On report and Climate Transition Plan 2030.  Alongside talks and panels, there'll be live performances, case studies, and plenty of space to network and connect with the people driving change across the industry.

A new study by VibeLab and Technopol dives into experiments with artistic short circuits as a model of low-carbon touring for artists. Built around regional anchoring, cooperative networks, and artist well-being, the findings show that slowing touring does not need to be a choice of personal sacrifice.

As the 2026 outdoor events season kicks off, festival organisers, caterers, and suppliers are urged to return reusable equipment to Bakers Basco, the bakery-led scheme managing the UK's shared pool of bread baskets and dollies. A staggering 20,000 items were recovered from event sites during the 2025 season alone, highlighting a critical breakdown in the circular economy when equipment is misused or sent to landfill.
