Double trouble at COC Pairs!

It’s official—Lisa Prideaux is on fire!

Fresh off her recent Singles triumph, Prideaux has struck again—this time alongside Aggie Motu—to claim the Shade Systems COC Pairs title. The Auckland BC duo proved their class with a flawless run, capped by a tense 15-12 final win over Carlton Cornwall's Linda Ralph and Alison Rennie. With 12 centre titles now to her name, Prideaux is clearly not easing off the gas.

In the men’s event, Tony Grantham and Randall Watkins (Mt Albert) left no doubts, bulldozing their way to victory. Their 24-4 final emphatic win over Blockhouse Bay’s Geaney and Al-Darra sealed a dominant campaign, with Grantham showing top-tier form throughout.

And with COC Triples up next, all eyes remain on Prideaux, who’s now three events deep into a potential clean sweep of all five COC titles. We’re hoping she can do it! Champion watch is officially on.

Shaping the season's calendar together

A huge thank you to everyone who helped shape the 2025–2026 Calendar of Events!

We ran both a player and club survey and hosted Club Delegates Forums attended by over 30 representatives. The goal? To find out what’s working, what’s not, and how we can improve this season’s calendar for everyone—players, clubs, umpires, greenkeepers, and the wider bowls community.

Your input has directly helped shape a more streamlined calendar for 2025–2026, reducing congestion while retaining the events that matter most. Based on your feedback, some key changes include:

  • Don’t cut back on centre events
  • Speed things up—like re-spotting the jack when killed and re-placing it when thrown incorrectly.
  • Ease the calendar congestion to free up more weekends for club-run events.
  • Aim for greater year-on-year consistency to help with planning.

It’s all part of our commitment to delivering a calendar that reflects the needs of our community and gives clubs more freedom to run great events.

2025–2026 Calendar Live!

Time and consistency lead the way in the 2025–2026 Calendar

This season’s calendar is formed around time and consistency, and they’re at the heart of Bowls Auckland’s newly released 2025–2026 playing calendar.

With more weekends handed back to clubs, a simplified schedule, and thoughtful tweaks across the board, this calendar is built to better reflect the needs of our bowls community.

You’ll see changes like a streamlined November, fresh flexibility in Twilight formats, and an earlier wrap-up to the Centre calendar to make space for club events and year-end functions. It’s all about making the calendar work better for you — the players, clubs, and volunteers who keep the game thriving.

Community spirit shines through at Blockhouse Bay

--Helen Blick
Blockhouse Bay Bowls turned up the passion and the pink for an unforgettable Pink Ribbon Day last Thursday – and the community showed just how much heart it has for a great cause.

Inspired by Anita Jones, the club hosted a vibrant afternoon in support of the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ – a charity especially close to Anita’s heart. With new club manager Steve Clifton as MC, the event brought together members, sponsors, and friends for a celebration filled with purpose.

The afternoon featured a fantastic lineup of delicious pink-themed treats, a spirited ‘spider on the green’ challenge, a giggle-worthy Pink Dog Balloon contest, and an insightful Understanding Breast Cancer quiz.

The original goal? Raise $1,000. The final result? A rousing applause moment when President Esther Eu announced a total of $2,037 raised! 💗 A wonderful, successful day!
