BE A HERO - DONATE BLOOD
Thank you to those of you who came to our Blood Drive on Monday, March 28th. Your generous gift of blood helped make a difference in people's lives! Due to lower than anticipated turnout, we have changed the dates for the two
remaining drives. Please schedule your appointment for Wednesday, June 22nd and Wednesday, October 26th from 3 PM to 7 PM. There are 24 slots available each drive date, so gather your friends, neighbors and co-workers! Did you know? The average adult body contains 10 pints of blood, giving blood burns 650 calories, many diseases do NOT exempt people from donating blood, including diabetes, asthma and Lyme Disease, diversity Matters - blood is full of antigens; the antigens within blood is often very similar within ethnic groups (antigens in donated blood need to closely match the antigens within the transfusion patient and blood that closely matches that
of a patient is less likely to be rejected by the patient and can mean fewer complications after a transfusion). If you’d like to learn more about donating blood or would like to receive a flyer to post at your work or share with your friends, please contact us at accounting@grandwoodpark.net. Appointments are preferred. You can schedule your appointment here.
