How to Identify a Scam Call

We have all received a fraudulent phone call from someone pretending to be an official ,such as a customs agent, a police officer, a government agent etc. We know it can be hard to identify a scam when we answer a call; it is difficult to recognize the signs. The best way to protect yourself is to familiarize yourself with what to look out for.

Vaccinated and Unvaccinated Quarantine Requirements

Have you recently arrived in Edmonton? Remember, unvaccinated travellers must quarantine for 14 days regardless of testing positive or negative for COVID on arrival into Canada. If you test positive on the day 8 test, you have to quarantine an additional ten days starting from the time you took the test with positive results. If you are vaccinated and test positive on arrival into Canada, you must isolate for ten days and report test results and/or symptoms.

Trivia Answer

You are at a higher risk of frostbite when the wind chill temperature drops below -27 degrees Celsius. We have been experiencing frigid temperatures for weeks, and it is best to arm yourself with the knowledge to understand how to appropriately dress for the extreme cold. Wind can make cold temperatures feel even colder; this is why we always factor in the wind chill temperature. For example, if it says -23 Celsius on your weather app, make sure to check what it actually "feels like" and dress for that temperature. Remember, wear woolly layers and limit the time your skin is exposed to avoid frostbite. Learn more on how to manage the extreme cold.
