Livvy Drake has worked across the event sector from catering and conferences to outdoor events and festivals. Following her environmental awakening witnessing a full solar eclipse, she knew she couldn’t ignore the industry's wastefulness so she retrained in Sustainable Events and behavioural science. As a sustainability professional, she has delivered initiatives at Shambala, audited events for A Greener Festival, trained event organisers with Julie’s Bicycle and developed industry guidance with Vision for Sustainable Events. Julie's Bicycle has released a new podcast series - Conversations on Creative Climate Leadership - showcasing their global Creative Climate Leadership network who explore the cultural dimensions of climate change and take action with impact, creativity and resilience. All six episodes are available to listen to now.

The onboard:earth Travel Carbon Calculator App is designed for event professionals, artists, and crew, to help them track, measure, and reduce travel-related carbon impact and join the mission to move low-carbon travel to the heart of live events and take the extra step of fund environmental restoration projects to acknowledge unavoidable emissions.

The Ticket to Ride project by The Changency and Crowd Impact was conducted during AnnenMayKantereit’s summer tour in 2023. It aims to show the possibilities for sustainable mobility and to encourage artists and event organisers to ask for these measures for their concerts or events. This project summary shows these results and the knowledge obtained through this project HERE.

The 2025 edition of the Sustainable Event Guide by Event Industry News is designed to be a practical resource for planning greener events. From reducing carbon footprints and minimising waste to choosing sustainable venues and catering, there are actionable insights to help organisers make responsible choices at every stage of event planning.
