The Protection of Personal Information Act

The Protection of Personal Information Act (or POPI Act) is South Africa's equivalent of the EU GDPR. It sets some conditions for responsible parties (called controllers in other jurisdictions) to lawfully process the personal information of data subjects (both natural and juristic persons). The Protection of Personal Information Act of 2013 (POPIA) is South Africa’s data protection law, aimed at protecting personal information processed by public and private bodies. POPIA came into effect on 1 July 2020.

The Salesian Institute Youth Projects commit that we shall take all reasonable measures to protect the personal information of users and for the purpose of this disclaimer “personal information” shall be defined as detailed in the Promotion of Access to Information Act, Act 2 of 2000 (“PAIA”) and the Protection of Personal Information Act, Act 4 of 2013 (“POPI”).

The Salesian Institute Youth Projects hereby confirms your information will NOT be shared with any Third-Party entities.
