Project updateCouncil’s contractor, ICON, is now reporting that the pool construction will be complete by May 2025 due to delays with the structural steel for the 25m indoor pool roof, which is currently in dispute. Council’s priority remains on delivering a first-class facility that meets the needs of the community, and we will continue to keep you updated. Progress this month includes the recent commissioning of the electricity substation to provide permanent power to the site, which marks a significant milestone on the project. The commencement of zinc cladding installation on Level 4 has also begun, and the high-level services on Level 3 of the facility and the new Level 2 gym area are now complete. Tiling of the walls adjacent to the 50m pool has also now commenced and internal waterproofing and wall tiling continues on Level 1.
