This morning the Prime Minister announced the government's new COVID-19 Protection Framework.

The new framework intends to minimise the impact of Covid-19 in our communities through a ‘traffic light' system.

The good news is that the 'traffic light' system allows tertiary providers to deliver onsite at all levels. However, to do this at 'Red', the highest level of the framework, full vaccination is required for on-campus delivery and a certificate must by carried as proof of this.

It is important to note that Auckland cannot transition from Alert Level 3 into this new framework until all three Auckland District Health Boards (DHBs) achieve vaccination rates of ninety percent (90%).

You can find more details on the Covid-19 website.

Achieving 90% vaccination in Tāmaki Makaurau

Until all three Auckland DHBs achieve 90% fully-vaccinated rates, Auckland is not able to move to the new 'traffic light' system.  If you have not been vaccinated yet, you can book through BookMyVaccine.  If you are still unsure, we encourage you to find information from the Covid-19 website or a trusted health professional. Vaccination certificates

Digital vaccination certificates will be available from mid-December in the form of a QR code, which you can print or save to your phone. everyone will need to use the new vaccine certificate system. Read more here.
NB: The card that you may have recorded your two vaccine doses on will not be sufficient

With today’s announcement, we are edging closer to returning to a new 'normal', where we can work, learn, socialise and move around our community with confidence.

We are looking forward to the day we can open our campuses again, although we’re unsure exactly when that will be.

Whānau, thanks once again for your mahi during this extremely challenging time. If you have any questions or are struggling, please reach out to the range of support options available.

In the meantime, we hope you enjoy the long weekend – hopefully we’ll have some fine weather.

Ngā mihi
