Research Grants and Fellowships in the Health and Medical Sciences When: 13 August 2021, 10:00am - 12:00pm (New time) Presented by Research Services, this lecture will provide an overview of research grants and fellowships and strategies for funding success in Health and Medical Sciences. The lecture will cover topics including the major granting bodies in Health and Medical Sciences, an NHRMC case study, writing your research proposal and the grant assessment process. Register here. Creating Impact for Research through Social Media When: 17 August 2021, 10:30am - 11:30am With the release of the ARC assessment of Engagement and Impact, researchers are now exploring how to create impact for their research through outreach and engagement. This hands-on workshop will provide a vital framework and starting point for becoming industry confident, as we address questions regarding engagement management and how to develop a long-term strategic partnerships for continued success in this area. Other Training & DevelopmentScoping Review Workshop Designed for clinicians, public health professionals, academics, researchers and others to determine the most appropriate review methodology for their question, with a particular focus on scoping reviews. This 1-day workshop enables participants to explore the theories and concepts relating to scoping reviews and other types of evidence synthesis, and equip participants with the knowledge and tools they need to successfully plan for and undertake a scoping review following the JBI approach. 24th to 25th August 2021; 6:00pm-9:30pm. Further Information. HPC and Data in Materials Design and Discovery A 12-week online, collaboratively taught course for Australian graduate students and researchers. The curriculum design aims to support graduate students and ECRs working in the space between HPC/Big Data and computational materials science with hands-on tutorials. 1st September to 26th November 2021; Wednesdays and Fridays 1:30pm-2:30pm. Further information and to register. Leximancer: An Introduction Leximancer is software which allows a quantitative analysis of text files according to word association. The analysis process gives a picture of the associations between key concepts in text files. The workshop covers the assumptions made within a Leximancer analysis, and how the software deals with different issues within a set of text documents. Part of the workshop is a hands-on exercise where participants analyse a simple text data set. We recommend completing CaRST activities throughout candidature to give yourself the best opportunity to benefit from each individual experience. To be considered 'on-track', it is only expected that you would have completed 15-20 credits by the CCSP, and 30-40 credits by the Major Review. You can monitor your progress in CaRST Online.
