Keep up-to-date with what's been going on at Highgate Hill House School! Headteacher updateHello all, With the Autumn term now complete, I hope you will all take this time to relax, unwind, and enjoy some well-deserved time with your family and friends. The children have thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas festivities in recent weeks, getting ready for the big day! Staff once again have gone above and beyond for our children. Just a reminder that if children do test positive over the Christmas break, please ensure that you follow the latest government guidelines on self isolation and testing to try and minimise the spread (see button below). I would like to thank all of our pupils, families and staff for their incredible work in recent months. Together we are making such a huge difference to the children in our care, and it certainly isn't going unnoticed. Most importantly, I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas, and a happy and Healthy New Year. Warm wishes, Gina Wagland Headteacher HAF Christmas Programme (Devon)The aim of the Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) programme is to support children to eat more healthily, be more active over the school holidays and have a greater knowledge of health and nutrition as well as be more engaged with school and other local services. Chair updateHello everyone, As we reach the end of this calendar year, I would like to thank Gina Wagland and all of her staff, who have been a pleasure to work with this year, as well as rising to the many challenges that Covid-19 has placed upon all of us in 2021, and ensuring that Christmas still means a little bit more. If I may quote from “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” by Dr. Suess, with which you will all be familiar: He HADN'T stopped Christmas from coming! IT CAME! Somehow or other, it came just the same! And the Grinch, with his grinch-feet ice-cold in the snow, Stood puzzling and puzzling: "How could it be so?" "It came with out ribbons! It came without tags!" "It came without packages, boxes or bags!" And he puzzled three hours, till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before! "Maybe Christmas," he thought, "doesn't come from a store." "Maybe Christmas...perhaps...means a little bit more!”…
Wishing you all, pupils, parents and carers and school staff alike a joyous and peaceful Christmas and thank you as always for your continued support.
