Winter has really ramped up this week, with rainy, windy weather making an appearance.

Even with the wild weather, the semester is in full swing and there are heaps of events starting back up on campus. From career mentoring to Hallett Cove hikes and Clubsland, there are events and opportunities galore this week.

Visit the Aboriginal communities of Malaysia with Wirltu Yarlu this November!

Visit the Aboriginal societies of Sarawak while providing the opportunity to critically think and find solutions to community challenges and struggles. Have the skills you develop outside of study (e.g. paid work, volunteering) formally recognised. Any eligible activities you’ve done since starting your degree can be claimed once you register, and you'll gain experience and get recognition for activities you do alongside your studies. Safer Campus Community Week 8-12 August
Did you know the University of Adelaide provides resources, training, support and advocacy to assist students to recognise inappropriate behaviour, take bystander action, know their rights, and understand their reporting options. Safer Campus Community Week provides a timely reminder to familiarise yourself with the resources and services available to you.

Free Bystander training for students
Register now for this education and intervention program facilitated by Specialist Sexual Violence Response Counsellor, teaches us to be leaders in the prevention of sexual violence and harassment. The program aims to teach students how to recognise sexual violence in its various forms and have the confidence to speak out and offer help.

Open Day Volunteers Needed!
Would you like to be involved in one of the largest on-campus University events? We are looking for students to fill a range of volunteer roles at Open Day (Sunday 14 August) including at Q&A Sessions, the Tours Hub, and Welcome Tents. 4 August, 11:00am to 2:00pm - Mezzanine, Hub Central
Join the YouX Student Experience Directors for a day of games in Hub Central. Bring a friend and challenge them to chess, complete a puzzle, or take a break with a board game. There'll be great prizes to win, free snacks, and bonus showbags for the first 40 students!
 

Find your people at Clubsland!
9 to 11 August, 10am to 3pm daily - Hub Central
Head to Hub Central and find the club (or clubs) for you at Clubsland. It’s a great opportunity to meet and greet with the vibrant YouX Clubs community all in one place. Tuesday: Faculty, support and political clubs, Wednesday: Activity and hobby-based clubs, Thursday: Cultural, religious and issue-based clubs.

Walk and talk your way around the Adelaide Parklands
1pm to 3pm, 12 August - meet at Barr Smith Lawns
Take a break between classes to tour the River Torrens and Botanic Gardens with an experienced Adelaide Parklands Guide. Leave your headphones at home and enjoy the green outdoors while you get to know fellow students. Free snacks will be provided to all participants - register to secure your spot.

  • Gain internships and work experience by searching CareerHub
  • Find Graduate Jobs (apply before you graduate) with Career Services

The Careers team also run employer events and workshops to increase your employability, build your resume and LinkedIn profile, improve interview skills, grow your career and more.
