![]() Refugee Housing Solutions is launching a new 8-week virtual prep course designed to prepare learners for the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Housing Counseling Certification exam as well as gain additional housing expertise to serve their clients. This course draws from the HUD Office of Housing Counseling’s Certified Housing Counseling course and is designed to not only provide learners with the knowledge to better serve their clients but also prepare them for the HUD Certified Housing Counselor exam. The virtual course is open to all agencies, organizations, staff, and/or ethnic and community-based organizations that serve ORR-eligible populations and is free of charge. If you are interested in learning how to better serve your clients with housing support and take a course to equip you for the official HUD housing counseling certification exam, then this course is for you! Due to high demand, the first cohort has reached capacity. However, details will be shared in November on how to register for the second cohort, which will begin in January 2026. The term "ORR-eligible populations" refers to individuals who are eligible to receive services and benefits administered by the U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). Eligibility is determined by Congress, and exact benefits may vary by eligibility category.
